London-based Foundry Brand Consultants has teamed with 1980’s British fashion brand, BodyMap to develop a licensing programme.
BodyMap was founded in 1982 by Stevie Stewart and David Holah, receiving acclaim for its unconventional, innovative, layered and often sculptural collections.
The duo took inspiration from the streets and the club scene, producing a blend of form fitting knits, layered stretch lycra jersey and bold rhythmic prints.
Foundry will now be working with the brand – which was recently the face of the V&A Club to Catwalk exhibition – to develop hosiery and activewear via licensing and collaborations.
"BodyMap took the fashion world by storm in the 1980’s," said Foundry’s Mike Smith. "Synonymous with London clubland culture and urban streetwear, the brand has never fallen off the fashion radar and has always been a reference point in the world of ready-to-wear.
"With the importance today in fabric development, print and the rise of activewear as a major trend in womenswear, there is significant interest in the BodyMap brand."
