New series will air on Super RTL's Toggolino.

Fourth series of Octonauts heads to Super RTL

German broadcaster Super RTL has ordered a fourth season of its pre-school show, Octonauts.

Super RTL is now the third major broadcaster to acquire the new series, following deals with BBC in the UK and Disney Channel in the US.

The fourth series will air on Super RTL’s Toggolino and will consist of 24 11 minute episodes and two 22 minute specials.

“We are delighted that Octonauts has been so well received in Germany," said Ron Allen, SVP consumer products EMEA at Silvergate Media.

"Super RTL has done a great job of supporting the show and the brand, and we’re thrilled to continue working with them to deliver even more exciting new content to their audiences in series four.”

Octonauts has been a hit in Germany since debuting in September 2011, and Octonauts toys have propelled the brand to the top spot in the figures and playsets category as well as a top ten spot in overall pre-school brands.

Carsten Göttel, program director at Super RTL, added: “Thanks to wonderful characters and educative storytelling, Octonauts have instantly become one of our most successful pre-school series.

"We look forward to airing a new season, and so do the German fans.”
