Fox celebrates 21st anniversary of Buffy with first Buffy Slay Day

Fox Consumer Products is celebrating the 21st anniversary of Buffy the Vampire Slayer with the launch of the first Buffy Slay Day this year.

The event will be held in order to allow fans to pay homage to a character often billed as a leader in the female empowerment movement.

Buffy Slay Day will take place on March 10th this year and will run for 21 hours with a wide range of Buffy themed prizes up for grabs, including apparel, toy figures, books and more.

Fox is encouraging fans to reward those who help them slay it in their own lives by using the hashtag #BuffySlayDay on Twitter and Instagram. Prizes include the new Buffy Funko Pop collection featuring Buffy, Xander, Willow, Giles and Faith, as well as Funko Rock Candy and Buffy the Vampire Encyclopedia.

The first Buffy the Vampire Slayer picture book has also been announced by Quirk Books.

The series, created by Joss Whedon, premiered on the WB network on March 10th, 1997. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is an Emmy and Golden Globe nominated series, which ran for seven seasons from 1997 to 2003 and stars Sarah Michelle Gellar.
