Fox partners with Marvel for movie adaptation of Superior comic

20th Century Fox has partnered with Marvel to deliver a brand new superhero to the big screen.

The studio has picked up the rights to Superior, a limited edition comic book series by Mark Miller, published by Marvel between 2010 and 2012.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie is set to be produced by Matthew Vaughn, the man behind the big screen adaptation of Miller’s Kick-Ass.

The Superior story line revolves around a young boy who suffers from multiple sclerosis. When he is granted a single wish by an alien monkey, he chooses to become his favourite superhero, a Superman-esque character, Superior.

Superior later learns that the monkey is actualy a demon from hell, and unless he wants to return to his previous body, he must sell his soul to the devil.

Fox is now looking for a writer to pen the screenplay.
