20th Century Fox Consumer Products has launched a collection of Marilyn Monroe portraits in an exclusive partnership with celebrated artist, Simon Claridge.
The Films of Marilyn The Diamond Dust Collection features an array of previously unseen shots of the film star, and were unveiled at a private event at Castle Fine Art in Mayfair.
The six interpretations of Marilyn Monroe created for this collection are drawn frm Marilyn’s most famous Fox movies, such as Gentleman Prefer Blondes and How to Marry a Millionaire.
“I’ve always regarded myself as a portrait painter – it’s where my passion lies,” says Claridge. “For me, the screen shots of Marilyn from her Fox movies are the ultimate portrait – it doesn’t get any better.
“To be able to immerse myself in the film archives was an unbelievable privilege, to be honest choosing just six was the difficult part. It is the closest I will ever be able to get to painting Marilyn for real. And that is an absolute highlight of my career.”
