Francetv Distribution’s Peanuts shorts to make US debut on Boomerang

Francetv Distribution’s Peanuts shorts are heading to US TV.

The shorts will debut on Boomerang with promotional crossover on Cartoon Network US and the Cartoon Network app.

The new deal marks the first showing of the shorts in an English-speaking country.

The 500 shorts, which are the first-ever animated interpretation of the iconic Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Schulz, are currently on air in over 20 territories around the world, on major networks such as France 3, Discovery LatAm and Disney Korea.

These shorts were produced by the French studio Normaal for France Te?le?visions, along with Peanuts Worldwide, and are distributed worldwide by francetv distribution.

“Having Boomerang as the everyday TV home of Peanuts for the US is an important piece of our kids-focused content strategy,” said Leigh Anne Brodsky, managing director of Peanuts Worldwide and Iconix Entertainment.

“Today’s kids will be able to get their daily dose of Peanuts from the leader in kid’s entertainment.”

Julien Borde, head of new projects at France Te?le?visions, added: "It’s a great honor for France Te?le?visions to partner with Turner. Animated in France by the most talented artists at Studio Normaal in Paris and Angouleme, the show is both a tribute to Charles Schulz’s original work and an amazing present to kids of all ages."
