GB Eye set for ‘best Q3 to date’ as Pokémon Go continues to drive sales

Pokémon Go fever continues to envelope the licensing industry with GB Eye the latest to benefit from the current craze sweeping the global digital space.

GB Eye secured the rights to develop a range of posters based on the Pokémon brand back in 1999 when the hit animé franchise first landed on UK shores.

The firm has now revealed that since the launch of Pokémon Go, a game that sees fans travel the real world hunting Pokémon in real life locations via Augmented Reality, orders for Pokémon have been ‘coming in thick and fast.’

The company now expects Q3 to be its best quarter to date.

GB eye’s senior licensing manager, Max Arguile, said: “GB eye was very pleased to be a licensee first time round at the turn of the millennium and is delighted to be back working on Pokémon now the craze is properly back, and this time with AR.

“Pokémon Go is beating all kinds of records and is making customers search out our fantastic range of products wherever they can.”

With a range spanning posters, collector prints, card holders, mugs and coasters, Arguile has hinted that a wider Pokémon product portfolio is already in development.
