GBI appoints Kids Preferred as toy partner for Llama Llama

Genius Brand International has appointed Kids Preferred as the toy partner for the bestselling children’s book franchise, Llama Llama.

Under the new agreement, Kids Preferred will develop a new line of plush toys, puppets and jack-in-the-boxes, inspired by the cast of characters from the books written by Anna Dewdney.

The new toy line will debut at retail next year.

“Kids Preferred has a stellar reputation for developing age appropriate toys and games based on respected intellectual properties and brands, and we are thrilled to introduce the much beloved Llama Llama characters in a new toy line,” said Stone Newman, president of global consumer products at GBI.

GBI recently brokered a partnership with author Dewdney and publishing house Penguin Young Readers to develop animated content based on the book series. A comprehensive line of Llama Llama licensed products, apparel, accessories, bedding and even snacks will be available in 2016.

“Given the global popularity of the Llama Llama characters and success of the books, we look forward to working with Genius Brands, Ana Dewdney and Penguin to deliver a programme at retail that expands Llama Llama’s engagement with its fans,” said Louis Premselaar, CEO, Kids Preferred.

“Our plush toys, puppets and other Llama Llama branded products will offer young children and their caregivers additional means for interacting with the lovable characters an fully experiencing the world of Llama Llama.”
