Investment will complete the financing for Lucky Fred and Bat Pat, whilst also helping new shows Escape Hockey and Mondo Yan

GD Entertainment Fund to co-finance Imira Entertainment projects

The GD Entertainment Fund has signed on to co-finance a range of Imira Entertainment shows.

The deal completes the funding for animated titles Lucky Fred and Bat Pat, both of which will now enter production.

“We are proud to have been selected as the first partner for GD Entertainment Fund and look forward to a successful and fruitful collaboration," said Sergi Reitg, CEO of Imira Entertainment.

"The financial investment in four titles from our development and production slate is fantastic news as we head to MIPCOM and Brand Licensing Europe where we will be looking to sign strong partners for the properties including additional broadcasters and licensing deals.”

The investment from GD Entertainment will also cover a percentage of the budget for new Imira Entertainment’s new shows Escape Hockey and Mondo Yan, which was recently showcased at the Cartoon Forum.

Mondo Yan follows Xia, a brave samurai who can ‘master anything but his teenage life’ while Escape Hockey is a space adventure following Dan, a boy who taken to the planet of Plutonium and has to win the Escape Hockey Tournament to get home.

The series will be produced in the innovative ‘Watch & Play’ format which combines animation with video games that are integrated in each chapter allowing real-time interactivity.

This partnership marks the first investment for the Fund, and the firm will be attending MIPCOM to continue its attempts to boost its portfolio.
