Fringe duo signed on to write the pilot for a TV show based on the Oscar-winning movie

Ghost TV series on the way from Paramount

Paramount is making a TV series based on the 1990 Oscar-winning movie Ghost, reports The Wrap.

The studio has hired Fringe producers Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinkner to write the pilot.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Akiva and Jeff, two deeply creative and accomplished talents, on the television adaptation of this classic supernatural drama,” Paramount TV president Amy Powell said in a statement.

The project is the latest to launch from Paramount’s new TV division which aims to develop new shows alongside bringing its own properties to the small screen.

This new TV arm has already been involved with Shawn Ryan’s Beverly Hills Cop TV pilot at CBS earlier this year.

As well as Fringe, Goldsman has previously won an Oscar of his screenplay for A Beautiful Mind, and is currently in production for his directorial debut, Winter’s Tale.
