Ghostbusters 5D attraction to haunt Germany’s Heide Park

Merlin Entertainments has teamed with Sony Pictures Entertainment to launch a new 5D attraction based on Ghostbusters at Germany’s Heide Park in 2017.

The ride will be based on both the 1984 and 2016 films and will see visitors make their way through a haunted warehouse.

"We’re excited to be partnering with Sony Pictures Entertainment for the second time in a year," said Mark Fisher, Merlin Entertainments chief development officer.

"Who wouldn’t want to answer the call, and fight their way through a ghost-infested warehouse. Our collaboration with Sony Pictures continues to deliver unforgettable experiences for our visitors, bringing to Germany a new level of immersive entertainment."

Jeffrey Godsick, EVP, worldwide partnerships at Sony Pictures Entertainments, added: "We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Merlin Entertainments which began earlier this year with the Ghosbusters: Dimension Virtual Reality immersive experience at Madame Tussauds New York, in collaboration with The Void.

"With the brand new Ghostbusters 5D ride in Heide Park, fans of the franchise will have the opportunity to engage with it like never before."
