The CGI animated pre-school series Gigantosaurus is building out its consumer products portfolio with a raft of new US partners across apparel and soft home fashions. The new lines will hit retail in spring 2020 and will follow an initial toy launch from the show’s master licensee Jakks Pacific.
American Marketing Enterprises, Centric Socks, Children’s Apparel Network, and Jay Franco have each signed to develop the new lines. The Cyber Group Studios series has picked up pace in the US where it currently airs on Disney Channel and Disney Junior.
“We are thrilled to welcome our first group of soft lines licensees to the Gigantosaurus family, joining Jakks and our award-winning publishing partner, Templar Publishing,” said Richard Goldsmith, president and CEO of Cyber Group Studios USA. “Each of these companies is a recognised market leader in their respective category and work with some of the biggest-name licenses in the business. All are well-suited to help us make a huge impact in the pre-school space with Gigantosaurus.”
Jason Korfine, partner, Licensing Street, the licensing agency for the brand in the US, added: “We are delighted to have such top-tier licensing partners onboard for Gigantosaurus. We look forward to working with these standout companies to translate this series’ instantly-relatable dinosaur characters, fun-filled adventures and positive messages for preschoolers into an exciting array of offerings that will further strengthen fans’ connection to the popular show.”
The series is based on Jonny Duddle’s bestselling book of the same name and directed by the award-winning director Olivier Lelardoux. It stars four dinosaur friends – Rocky, Bill, Tiny and Mazu – who take pre-schoolers on comedy-filled adventures as they dare to be themselves and explore the world beyond their nests.
Gigantosaurus launched on Disney Channel in the US on January 18, 2019, and less than two months later was added to the Disney Junior line-up as well. The series will debut worldwide on Disney this year in most territories and premiere on Netflix in 2020.
The animated TV series received a prestigious Pulcinella Award in the Best Upper Preschool TV Series category at one of the animation industry’s most important events – the Cartoons on the Bay Festival.
