Giochi Preziosi named Italian toy partner for Kid-E-Cats

Giochi Preziosi has been named the distribution partner for APC Studio’s Kid-E-Cats toy range across Italy.

The property’s master toy partner Toy Plus in the Far East, and part of the Thai Group, is currently developing a range of plush, collectables, figurines and play-sets targeted at pre-school children, with global retail launch scheduled for September this year.

Giochi Preziosi is now on board to distribute Toy Plus’ products across Italy, starting with the four lines developed to date, including three-inch figurines with accessories, six-inch figurines with sound buttons, musical eight-inch plush figures and musical six-inch plush figures in Q4.

Lionel Marty, managing director of APC Kids, said: “We’re delighted to have the preeminent Italian toy company, Giochi Preziosi, on board to bring Toy Plus’ products to Kid-E-Cats fans in Italy.

“The range is already looking fantastic and we’re confident that Giochi Preziosi’s wealth of experience in establishing a strong retail presence for preschool properties will ensure the first wave of products is a huge hit when it launches later this year.”

Kid-E-Cats tells the story of three kittens: Cookie, Pudding and their sister Candy who are ready to jump into action with endless enthusiasm and energy. Their imagination also knows no bounds, and these kitties are capable of the most absurdly funny problem-solving suggestions.

The series is based on an original Russian series produced by CTC Media and Studio Metrafilms and is the second-best performing pre-school series in Russia. The third season is currently in production following a commission from CTC last year and series one and two are currently available on Nick Jr internationally in over 170 territories following a deal signed between APC Kids and Nickelodeon International last year.
