Grumpy Cat sues coffee maker over IP infringement

The infamous Grumpy Cat now has a reason for her stern look, as the feline’s company Grumpy Cat Limited are suing a beverage firm.

Grumpy Cat Limited has reportedly filled a lawsuit against the drinks firm, after claims that the vendor infringed on Grumpy Cat’s trademark with a new line of coffee.

The suit claims that the company entered into a licensing agreement with Grenade Beverage earlier this year, for a line of coffee products, which were to be named Grumpy Cat Grumppucino.

However, according to the suit Grenade Beverage broke the agreement with an unauthorised Grumpy Cat-themes ground coffee.

In addition, Grumpy Cat Limited also claims that the beverage firm is cybersquatting on the internet domain grumpycat.com.
