Penguin Ventures has entered into a new partnership with the iconic retailer Harrods to create a bespoke range of gifts in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Raymond Brigg’s original picture book, The Snowman.
A bespoke piece of artwork featuring The Snowman and James flying over harrods Knightsbridge store and the London skyline, has been created and applied to a range of gifts including tote bags, aprons, tea trays, tea towels and mugs.
The new partnership follows the success of a Peter Rabbit movie product range that Penguin Ventures developed exclusively with the retailer.
Jen Greenway, category manager of softlines at Penguin Ventures, said: “We were thrilled to work with the team at harrods once again to develop this very special anniversary range for The Snowman. These two iconic British brands have been brought together in an entirely unique way to form part of Harrods Christmas offering which we hope consumers will enjoy this winter.”
In addition, Penguin Ventures has also worked with Harrods on a range of Snowman infant and toddler apparel and nightwear, Christmas decorations and an exclusive Snowman plush.
It’s the latest in Penguin’s ongoing celebration of 40 years of The Snowman in 2018 that has been rounded out with a series of collaborations and special edition anniversary gifts, including books, clothing, toys and confectionery.
A nationwide programme of events of events including orchestral and theatrical performances, special film screenings, an original art exhibition and immersive experiences will aim to give families in the UK the chance to celebrate The Snowman.
