Haven Global to build Pokémon across Australia and New Zealand

The Pokémon Company International has named Haven Global as its exclusive licensing agent for the Australian and New Zealand markets, in a display of renewed commitment to the success of the brand in the key territories.

For more than two decades, The Pokémon Company International (TPCi) has built up one of the strongest and most and recognisable brands in the world, launching chart-topping initiatives across a variety of entertainment platforms, including video games, mobile games, live-action movies, and a hit trading card game that has shipped 25.7 billion cards globally.

Pokémon’s animation program spans 22 movies and 1,000 episodes, while the Pokémon brand is introducing new experiences for its millions of fans around the world on a constant basis.

Until now, all licensing programs have been managed exclusively in-house by the brand. Its partnership  with Haven Global not only highlights the company’s commitment to Australian and New Zealand markets, but marks a first in handing responsibility to a third party.

“The continued growth and success of Pokémon, and its ability to constantly evolve, has been such an impressive and inspirational journey to watch over the past two decades,” said Tom Punch, managing director of Haven Global. “We’re so honoured to be trusted by The PokémonCompany International with such an iconic and well-known brand, and look forward to expanding the brand’s presence in our market.”

Haven now welcomes discussions for new opportunities for the Pokémon brand with AU/NZ partners and retailers at Las Vegas Licensing Expo.
