HBO releases new Game of Thrones mobile and PC game with Reigns studio Neria

HBO has detailed a new Game of Thrones game for smartphones and PC, developed by the award-winning studio behind the Reigns series, Nerial.

Reigns: Game of Thrones casts the player as a king or queen trying to avoid rebellions, wars, assassination or supernatural interference to stay on the throne for as long as possible.

The game is presented as a cross between a card game and dating app where in-game decisions are made by swiping right or left through different scenarios.

Of these, the game explores a variety of scenarios for the futures of key characters from the Game of Thrones books and TV show, as prophesied by the Red Priestess, Melisandre. Players can rule as Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Cersei Lannister, Tyrion Lannister or Sansa Stark, among others.

The game will be released in October for £2.99 on iPhones, Android and PC via Steam.
