Hodder Children’s Books teams with Zappar for AR teen title

Publishing house, Hodder Children’s Books has partnered with Zappar to bring its new paperback launch Rock War to life using AR technology.

From the bestselling author Robert Muchamore, the story follows three teens, each fighting for fame and will feature a hos of AR content, allowing readers to have ‘photo moments’ on the Rock War stage with drum kits, guitars and stage lighting.

Via the free to download Zappar app, readers will be offered exclusive game content, allowing hem to play their own rock anthem and get a photo taken to look like a rock star.

Max Dawes, partnerships director at Zappar, said: “It’s exciting to be able to try out different ways of engaging with new audiences. The teen market is a hard one to get right, but we are confident that with the brilliant Rock War storyline and the cool immersive AR content, we will be able to provide readers with an awesome experience.”

The paperback of Rock War will hit retailers on February 5th and will be priced at £6.99.
