Ian Hyder’s marathon success raises £7,500 for charity

Max Publishing’s Ian Hyder successfully completed the Virgin London Marathon at the weekend – without stopping, he would like to point out – raising £7,500 so far for charity.

Hyder, joint MD of Max and The Licensing Awards, will donate the cash raised from the 26.2-mile run to industry charity The Light Fund, to support its fundraising drive for The Children’s Trust Hospital.

"My legs feel like they’ve been run over by a truck, but running the marathon was an amazing experience," said Hyder. "The last two miles were the hardest as my legs started to cramp up and they felt longer than all the previous 24, but the crowds just pick you up and carry you along in a huge wave of emotion.

"It was unbelievable and I am very grateful to everyone that donated and helped The Light Fund."
