ITV has launched a new dedicated pre-school block called littleBE, broadcasting across its popular ITVBe channel and led with the revival of the hit kids’ series Sooty.
The Sooty Show is undergoing another reboot, 50 years after it first aired with six new 15 minute episodes running every Monday morning on the channel’s new littleBE digital net.
Sooty, Sweep and Sue will return along with Richard Caddell, who stepped in as host in 1998 and whose company produces the series. Licensing and merchandising rights will be handled by Those Licensing People.
Meanwhile, the new ITV children’s focused network has acquired all three seasons of Pip Ahoy! And will broadcast twice daily, Monday to Friday, during the key broadcast hours. The CHF Entertainment produced series features the voice of Sir David Jason and Pip’s uncle, Captain Skipper.
The show will follow the adventures of Pip the pup and his friends Alba, Captain Skipper, Hopper and Pasty around the seaside town of Salty Cove. Series three will also feature some new character including Alan the penguin’s Uncle and cousin, as well as Mouse Pirate who lives on Cheesecake Island.
