ITV Studios adds new head of publishing

ITV Studios Global Entertainment has created a new role of head of publishing in its home entertainment arm.

Shirley Patton (pictured) joins ITVS GE from Channel 4 where she worked as a publishing consultant, securing book deals such as the recently published TV tie ins to Misfits and The Spice Trail.

At ITVS GE, she will be responsible for developing and implementing the firm’s publishing strategy, including digital publishing, in the UK and internationally.

Patton will develop the publishing business from ITV Studios’ output across the key genres of factual, drama, entertainment and daytime, as well as the film catalogue.

"Bringing a wealth of experience from the publishing and television worlds, Shirley has a terrific knowledge of book publishing and the ability to transform television content into commercially successful publishing products," said Kevin Morgan, director of home entertainment. "This will prove invaluable as we look to build on our strong publishing foundation by exploiting ITVS GE’s literary portfolio across physical and digital products."
