ITV Studios’ The Rubbish World of Dave Spud ‘promises great things for licensing’

ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) will be showcasing licensing opportunities for brand-new CITV comedy animation The Rubbish World of Dave Spud at Brand Licensing Europe next week, following ‘far from rubbish ratings’ since the show’s launch.

In fact, according to the Studio, ratings for the new animated series ‘have been exceptional and promise great things for the future of the brand and its licensing programme.’

The Rubbish World of Dave Spud, produced by Illuminated Films, stars the voice talents of Johnny Vegas, Jane Horrocks, Philip Glennister, Gina Yashere, and the musical talents of Basement Jaxx. It’s billed as a “riotous, hilarious animated kids comedy which will appeal to fans of Mr Bean and Mr Magoo.”

Overall, the after-school episodes of The Rubbish World of Dave Spud rank as CITV’s best performing title in the channel’s weekday 4.30pm slot for 2019 so far. The programme has so far peaked with a 25.5 per cent share of children aged four to 12s in its first week of transmission, and compared to all other school-aged channels, it is best in slot for all Individuals and Children in its after-school airings.
