ITVS GE and Microgaming launch Village People online slot game

ITV Studios Global Entertainment has teamed with Microgaming to launch a new online slot game based on the retro disco brand, Village People.

The deal covers territories worldwide, excluding the US, and was brokered by ITVS GE, the UK licensing agent appointed by the brand manager PGS Entertainment.

The game has been earmarked for launch in summer next year and will showcase Village People’s library of hits with classics including YMCA, Macho Man and Go West. All the iconic characters will feature, including the Biker, COnstruction Worker and Cowboy, with design taking players back to the pop culture of the 70s.

Microgaming is responsible for developing the world’s first true online casino software and first mobile casino software. Its jackpot network is the largest in the world and one of its games holds the Guinness World Records title for the largest jackpot payout in an online slot machine game.

The firm is based on the Isle of Man. Village People is the latest addition to its licensed portfolio, joining the likes of Playboy, Jurassic World, Terminator 2 and Game of Thrones.

Andrew Clucas, chief operating officer at Microgaming, said: “Village People is an iconic brand that has remained popular with mainstream audiences since the 70s and 80s. Microgaming is proud to be adding the symbolic title to its extensive branded slots portfolio.”
