ITVS GE launches Classic Thunderbirds men’s fashion collaboration

ITV Studios Global Entertainment has collaborated with three leading names in men’s fashion to launch a range of Classic Thunderbirds clothing.

The collaboration is in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Classic Thunderbirds series and will see works from British designer Lou Dalton, shirt maker Turnbull and Asser and Fashion Lab.

Set to launch at retail AW15, the collaboration with Dalton will see the iconic series printed on her latest men’s knitwear collection, while Turnball & Asser’s line will include a range of men’s silk handkerchiefs and ties.

Elsewhere, Fashion Lab is set to release a selection of men’s styles, including outerwear and nightwear, featuring imagery from the original show, targeted at mid and high-end retailers.

“The inclusion of Classic Thunderbirds in all of these fashion forward collections not only reaffirms the lasting appeal of this iconic brand and its characters, but also its commercial ability to expand into a variety of markets, including contemporary men’s fashion,” said Trudi Hayward, SVP, Head of Global Merchandising at ITVS GE.

“It is a real privilege to be teaming up with such prestigious names and to celebrate the 50 year heritage of this much loved brand with style.”

Lou Dalton added: “Tailoring and construction is who we are and what we do.

"We were really inspired by the iconic look of Classic Thunderbirds and have included subtle references in the collection that have added a quirky twist to traditional men’s tailoring.”
