Jack Black in talks for Goosebumps movie

Jack Black is in negotiations to star in Sony Pictures’ upcoming Goosebumps movie, reports The Wrap.

The film, based on R.L. Stine’s bestselling book series, is being produced by Fast & Furious’ Neal H. Moritz while Gulliver’s Travels director Rob Letterman will be behind the camera.

The Wrap claims the film will follow an Stine-like author, played by Black, whose scary characters start to come to life.

Goosebumps is the second most popular children’s book series of all time with more than 300m copies sold and the series has already been successfully adapted once before, as a TV series by Scholastic Entertainment which aired in over 100 countries.
