Jim Henson Company expands with new hires and promotion

The Jim Henson Company has revealed the promotion of key staff for its global distribution business and also a new hire.

Amy Takahara (pictured) will take on the role of director, global distribution, sales. She joins the firm from FremantleMedia Kids and Family Entertainment where she was manager of distribution and marketing.

Meanwhile, Casie Friedman has been promoted to senior director, global distribution, sales, responsible for worldwide home entertainment and digital sales.

In additon, Katie Mullins, who joined the company in February 2014 as assistant, global distribution, has been promoted to coordinator, global distribution.

"The Jim Henson Company’s talent for developing fun, smart and engaging content for children continues to drive global demand from buyers for our programming," said Richard Goldsmith, EVP of global distribution and international consumer products. "Thanks to the dedication of people like Karen Lee Arbeeny, Casie Friedman and Katie Mullins and our new addition to the team, Amy Takahara, The Jim Henson Company has been able to enjoy tremendous success as we continue to expand our brands in the global market."

The recent promotions and new addition are the result of a restructure that started with the previous promotion of Karen Lee Arbeeny to VP business operations, global distribution.
