Jurassic World tops UK box office for second week running

Jurassic World topped the UK box office in its second week on release.

Universal’s sequel made £11.1m in its second weekend, to bring its total gross in the UK to £38.5m.

Screen states that in comparison, the UK’s highest grossing film of 2015 so far, Avengers: Age of Ultron, stood at £32.3m after two weeks on release.

Jurassic World’s weekend performance makes it the second biggest ever second weekend at the UK box office, just behind Skyfall’s £16.6m.

The dino sequel faces major competition for the box office top spot this weekend in the form of Minions.
