Boat Rocker Studios has appointed Kate Schlomann as its new executive vice president of brand management and content marketing.
The content distribution and brand arm of Boat Rocker Media is currently enjoying a period of ‘rapid growth’ which itself follows a restructuring of the Rights and Studios business which recently saw the promotion of Jon Rutherford to MD or Boat Rocker Studios.
Schlomann, based at Boat Rocker’s New York office, joins from Mattel, where she most recently served as vice president and general manager for Thomas & Friends, and oversaw the brand globally across all aspects of brand and marketing strategy, franchise management, creative execution and product development.
Prior to that, she led global brand franchise and marketing for properties such as Bob the Builder, Fireman Sam and Barney.
In addition to her time at Mattel, Schlomann has more than 20 years of experience in a number of senior leadership positions driving franchises at organisations such as Fremantle where she served as EVP brand management and content marketing leading brands such as Idol, Got Talent and Master Chef.
She also boasts experience with Nickelodeon/Viacom leading evergreen brands such as Dora, SpongeBob and MTV, and Universal Studios across iconic movie franchises such as Fast & Furious, Jurassic Park and Tomb Raider.
As EVP, Schlomann will lead the charge for all of Boat Rocker’s brand, licensing and content marketing initiatives across scripted, factual and kids and family genres.
Directing and supporting Boat Rocker’s talented team of brand marketing professionals, Kate will drive a high level of communication across the regions to ensure a common global voice, while managing a broad portfolio and ensuring that local, regional and global priorities are met.
Schlomann will report directly to Jon Rutherford.
