Kenzo teams with Disney for Jungle Book-inspired collection

In celebration of Disney’s upcoming live-action film The Jungle Book, fashion house Kenzo has showcased its limited edition collection based on characters from the film.

In collaboration with Disney, the new collection for both men and women spans jumpers, dresses, shirts, jackets, trousers, shorts and t-shirts, all boasting imagery of Mowgli, Baloo, Bagheera, Shere Khan and King Louie.

The label’s creative directors, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim revealed that they sourced original drawings from the Disney archive to develop the range.

The designers said: “The silhouettes we chose for the garments and accessories were inspired by the new direction Disney has taken with the live-action movie," reports The Hollywood Reporter.

"There is a slight nod to jungle/safari elements (and even beautiful printed silk shorts directly inspired by Mowgli’s costume).”

The collection will be available online from April 7th.
