King Features launches Olive Oyl knitwear collection

King Features fashionista Olive Oyl is the star of a new knitwear collection in China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

Urban streetwear brand b+ab has created a group of designs based on Olive’s classic red shirt/black skirt outfit.

The range is being showcased in close to 70 retail b+ab stores, located in high-end malls, including Harbour City and New Town Plaza.

The deal was brokered by King’s agent, Global Brands, and is the latest in a series of fashion deals in the region for King’s brands.

“Olive Oyl is such an icon that her distinctive look and dress make her appealing to designers and fashion brands,” says Cathleen Titus, King’s Vice president of international licensing.

“Olive has been the longtime symbol of the Moschino Cheap & Chic fragrance line, and has appeared on collections from Iceberg, Liu Jo, Miss Sixty, Monnalisa and Zara and we’re so pleased to welcome b+ab as a licensee. They have captured the essence of her look and personality in a delightfully contemporary pixelated graphic.”
