Studio MDHR and King Features Syndicate have tapped the pop culture licensing specialist, Fanattik to launch a range of Cuphead collectable gifts, including coins, coasters, pins and more.
In a deal brokered by Allsorts Licensing, King Features’ UK agent, Fanattik will develop an expansive range inspired by the award-winning, five-times platinum video game, Cuphead. The range will launch in 2020 and will include bottle openers, key rings and money boxes.
Fanattik will also develop a number of exclusive products for pop culture retailers, with products ranging in price from £6 to £25.
“This highly imaginative game sold its first million copies in less than two weeks. With a Netflix animated series on the way, and new publishing and graphic novels in the pipeline, this is a brand both ourselves and our retail partners are really excited about,” said Anthony Marks, founder of Fanattik.
Following the adventures of two brothers and best pals Cuphead and Mugman, Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game with a heavy focus on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons on the 1930s, the visuals and audio are created with the same techniques of the era, including traditional hand-drawn animation, watercolour backgrounds and original jazz recordings.
The BAFTA award-winning video game will be releasing new downloadable content in 2020.
