King Features unveils global expansion with eight new licensing agents

The global licensor of Betty Boop and Popeye, King Features has appointed eight new licensing agents in its latest expansion move.

The firm has appointed agents across Brazil, Canada, China, Israel, Korea, Mexico, the Middle East and Peru.

Vertical Licensing will head up the licensing programme in Brazil, while Segal Licensing will look after Canada.

In China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia, MediaLink will work on expanding the licensing roster for both Popeye and Betty Boop, while in Israel, operations will be spearheaded by Licensing Dynamics International.

Asiana Licensing will look after Korea and Mon Entertainment will preside over Mexico and Latin America.

In the Middle East and Peru, activity will be managed by Copyright Licensing Agency and AMV Licencias, respectively.

“We are delighted to welcome our new agents to the King Features family,” said Cathleen Titus, the New York-based company’s vice president, international licensing.

“We are confident that we will be well positioned for success as we continue to expand our licensing programme into new merchandising categories and new territories around the world.”
