The firm will seek licensees in apparel, fashion, accessories and more for TV drama inspired by country music

Knockout Licensing appointed licensing manager for US drama Nashville

Knockout Licensing has been appointed by ABC Studios to launch and manage the licensing programme for the hit US TV show, Nashville.

The firm is seeking licensees and retail partners to launch the brand in key product categories including apparel, accessories, health and beauty aids, gift and novelty and more.

Co-produced by ABC Studios and Lionsgate Television Group, the drama follows the lives of a country music legend, Rayna James (played by Connie Britton), an ambitious pop starlet, Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) and their circles of fellow musicians.

The show tackles the musical and political landscape of the capital of country music, Nashville, Tennessee and is now in its second series across the US.

Knockout Licensing co-president, Tamra Knepfer, said: "As not only a fan of the show bu a licensing professional, I see enormous potential here for fan-based merchandise as well as a lifestyle product inspired by the show.

"Nashville is a winning combination. It combines the popularity of a hit television series with phenomenal music and drama, the star power of Hayden Panettiere and Connie Britton, and style, from the flash of sequins and rhinestones under the showbiz spotlight to ‘down home’ authentic trend-right country-western inspiration."
