Knockout secures first partners for Italian food chain Rita’s Italian Ice

Knockout Licensing has secured the first licensing partners for the world’s largest Italian Ice concept, Rita’s Italian Ice.

Taste Beauty and Goffa International have both signed with the retail chain that boasts 600 stores across the region, offering an extensive menu of iced treats.

Taste Beauty has secured the rights to create a Rita’s line of scented and flavoured cosmetics, fitting in with the Rita’s brand messaging of fun and happiness.

“Rita’s is a fast growing brand that combines fun and flavour in a way that really lends itself to our cosmetics for teens and tweens,” said Alex Fogelson, managing partner of Taste Beauty.

“We are excited to leverage its amazing flavours to develop an innovative and delicious collection of products.”

Goffa International, meanwhile, has been granted the rights to create a line of amusement plush utilising the Rita’s brand and characters. The plush will be part of Goffa’s Amusement Park Collection for use as gaming and redemption prizes at theme parks and in carnival and midway games.

“Rita’s has strong associations with the ideas of summer treats, fun and happiness so it’s a great brand for the many boardwalk and seaside, amusement park and amusement destination operators we work with,” said Goffa manager, Danny Song.

Robin Seward, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Rita’s Italian Ice, added: “We aim to bring our guests happiness at each and every visit to Rita’s fans that same level of happiness outside of the store through fun items like plush and cosmetics.

“It’s a great fit for our brand, and we’re looking forward to creating more partnerships for our fans to enjoy.”
