Sheridans has a particular niche in the creative industries helping clients achieve their commercial goals in exploiting their rights, protecting their brands from infringement and enforcement. Founded in 1956, it employs over 70 staff, including 30 partners.

This year, the firm is looking to grow its activity within the licensing market, working for both licensors and licensees. Specifically, it will be building on its work with brands across the fashion, games and toys industries on licensing, franchising and distributing merchandise both locally and internationally.

Tahir Basheer, partner heading up the Brands team, commented: "Joining LIMA enables us to be at the heart of driving the licensing industry forward and ensures that we are focused on the most up-to-date needs of our clients.

“The legal framework for licensing arrangements is vital and ensuring that these deals are water tight with regards the definitions of the intellectual property involved as well as the licensed products, the payment provisions and the scope and duration of the licence are crucial. We are pleased to lend our support to LIMA members and help guide them through the legal complexities.”
