Coolabi has appointed Anna Hewitt as its new head of licensing with immediate effect.
Hewitt joins the company from BBC Worldwide, where she most recently held the role of head of international licensing, working closely with toy and other category partners on brands including Teletubbies, In The Night Garden, Charlie & Lola, Dr Who and Planet Earth.
Prior to BBCW, Hewitt had roles at Hasbro and the premium spirits company William Grant & Sons.
At Coolabi she will be responsible for overseeing brand licensing development across all properties and categories. These include Purple Ronnie, Bagpuss, The Clangers and new pre-school brand, Poppy Cat. She will report to Michael Dee, director of content for Coolabi.
"Coolabi is an exceptionally well regarded company with a diverse portfolio of high quality brands," Hewitt commented. "It is also growing, taking its portfolio into new categories and territories. It is a great opportunity to be part of a company that is at such an exciting stage in its development."
Dee added: "Anna's experience to date shows her ability to work with diverse brands and her deep understanding of international markets - both of which will be significant factors in her new role. Her arrival in the run up to Toy Fair and Spring Fair is a great way to kick off what we are sure will be a very busy and productive year for Coolabi."
