Battersea Dogs & Cats Home has teamed up with Portico Designs for and Woodmansterne Publications.

Calendars and diaries from Portico will feature unique vintage photographs from the home’s 151-year history, as well as illustrations by cartoonist Jason Chapman.

Woodmansterne Publications will produce greetings cards using artwork and images from the home’s portfolio.

Julia Woodmansterne, publishing director, said: "What a treat it has been to work with Jason Chapman’s illustrations and Battersea Cats and Dogs Home’s archive to create this entertaining range of greeting cards. I’m sure they will be irresistible to animal lovers everywhere."

Lucy McCredie, Battersea’s licensing consultant, said: "We’re so pleased to be launching our brand licensing programme with two such high calibre partners as Portico and Woodmansterne. Battersea enjoys strong brand recognition and hopes to maximise this familiarity to raise funds through consumer product licensing. This is the beginning of what we hope will develop to become a full portfolio of licensed products."

The greeting cards from Woodmansterne are set to hit retailers' shelves in the summer with the 2013 calendars and diaries set to be ready later in the year.

Battersea is now looking to extend its brand into other areas including a range of gifts, tableware, apparel, bedding and pet accessories.
