Classic character Betty Boop has become involved with the Sandra Ibarra Foundation's breast cancer campaign, with a special 'Betty Boop knows it, do you?' drive.
Licensing agent Biplano and fashion accessory firm Karactermania are both involved with the Be Solidary! Be Boop! campaign.
The centrepiece is a specially designed pink handbag featuring an image of Betty Boop and the Sandra Ibarra Foundation signature orange ribbon (pictured).
The character was personally selected by Ibarra as the symbol of this year's project and she has contributed to the design.
The handbag will be available in Spain from December for 39.95 Euros, with 5 Euros from this donated to the campaign.
"The goal of this campaign is to make women, especially younger women, aware of the importance of prevention and early detection of breast cancer," Ibarra said. "It provides practical and visual advice presented in a bright and youthful way through the voice and image of Betty Boop."
