King Features has secured a cheeky new deal with the offbeat lingerie brand Undiz to develop a collection of Betty Boop-themed underwear.

The deal was brokered by Biplano Licensing and will see the launch of the Undiz collection at the lingerie brand’s retail outlets across Europe.

The collection includes nightwear, swimwear and underwear for women featuring playful designs inspired by the pop culture icon that is Betty Boop.

“Undiz’s flirty and unique style makes them a perfect fit for Betty Boop, who has personified those qualities for decades,” said Carla Silva, VP and GM, global head of licensing for King Features. “We are excited to show off her playful side through this collection to fans across Europe.”

Undiz is the latest fashion-forward collaboration from king Features and Fleischer Studios for Betty Boop. Other recent partnerships in the field include fashion and beauty heavyweights such as Yves Saint Laurent, Moschino, Lazy Oaf and A Bathing Ape, as well as Jean Paul Gaultier, Supreme New York and more.

Betty Boop was born in an era when cartoon starring self reliant female characters were rare. She has since endured as a rebellious, mischievous pop culture hero, transforming her style into Modern Classic Betty when Pantone paid tribute to the icon by developing her signature shade – Betty Boop Red – which went on to inspire apparel designed by Zac Posen and lipstick from MAC Cosmetics.
