New York-based branded entertainment company Big Tent is aiming to make the classic Purple Ronnie property a hit Stateside, following its appointment by Coolabi as its new US agency.
Big Tent has a vast array of properties on its books including international hits like Domo, Miffy & Friends, The Wiggles and TOKYOPOP.
The company will be developing a comprehensive licensing drive for Purple Ronnie in North and South America with an emphasis on key categories including social expression, publishing, apparel, casual game, gift and novelties.
"We are always on the look out for entertainment content that has both a loyal fan base and more than one media driver," explained Richard Collins, CEO of Big Tent. "Purple Ronnie meets both these criteria. In fact, the brand goes even further. Purple Ronnie brings together a memorable, iconic character, poetry and humour, making it a great entertainment brand for young, hip adults and teens."
Janet Woodward, head of licensing at Coolabi, added: "When we acquired the Purple Ronnie brand, a clear part of our strategy was to take him into the pivotal North and South American markets."
