Bon Bon Buddies teams with Tango

Licensee extends own-brand range with launch of new Tango Nanobytes.

Licensed character confectionery firm Bon Bon Buddies has teamed up with soft drink brand Tango to extend its own-brand range with Tango Nanobytes.

Three new flavours will be created - Orange, Apple and Cherry - and follow on from the success of the firm's cosmic-themed Nanobytes sweets in 2013.

The sweets will be available across the UK and the Middle East from the end of September, in a resealable foil pack featuring a new front-of-pack window so the contents can be clearly seen. Bon Bon Buddies is also introducing a new price-marked pack for UK wholesale customers.

The new confectionery line will further strengthen Bon Bon Buddies' own brand range - it currently accounts for four per cent of the company's business and it hopes to grow this to 15 per cent by 2018.

"We have worked hard to establish Nanobytes across the UK and international markets, and I am looking forward to getting a whole new fanbase excited about the brand, as well as offering our current fans new flavours to discover," said Chris Howarth, MD of Bon Bon Buddies.

Ian Downes, MD of Start Licensing, the agent for the Tango brand, added: "We are happy to add Bon Bon Buddies to the licensee list. Their Nanobytes range is a perfect match with Tango and is a fantastic addition to the licensing programme."
