Cepia's collectable brand has been licensed for two films, Quest for Zhu and Power of Zhu, which will debut exclusively on DVD in 2011 and 2012 respectively.
LA-based Moonscoop will make the movies, with studio chief Mike Young commenting: "Developing characters kids can relate to through music, challenges and real-world, life lessons is a unique and gratifying opportunity."
Since ZhuZhu Pets launched in 2009 more than 62 million toy hamsters have been sold in over 65 countries, achieving a loyal fanbase of 'Zhu-natics'.
