Brandzoo scoops Yoohoo and Friends

Firm picks up the UK licensing rights to brand based on soft toy line from Aurora World.

Brandzoo Licensing has been appointed to represent new brand, YooHoo & Friends, in the UK.

YooHoo & Friends is based on the soft toy line from Aurora World. Launched in 2007, sales have reached $150 million worldwide at retail, with UK sales showing a 31 per cent upturn year to date.

The concept reflects global issues on the environment and endangered animals, with the brand pitched at a core audience of four to eight year-old girls. There are five main characters, as well as 20 sub characters, each based on an endangered species with a name, place of origin and personality.

In addition, there is an animated TV series, with the first series having been sold to a number of territories. Series two is in production and will be featured at Mip Junior in October.

Aurora have produced an excellent style guide based on these cute animals and initial discussions with potential licensees are extremely positive."
