Bulldog hits the mark with Bullseye deal

Firm becomes UK licensing agent for iconic darts game show.

One of the most successful programmes in the history of ITV, Bullseye is moving into the licensing business after Bulldog signed up to become the UK agent.

The firm will be looking to capitalise on the game show's retro appeal across categories such as apparel, board games and gifting. The official Bullseye Facebook page - which has over 36,000 fans - will be used to help promote product.

"There are few game shows that can rival Bullseye in the affections of the British public and as a brand it offers huge potential for licensing," said Rob Corney, Bulldog MD. "We have already been in talks with a number of partners and expect to be making deal announcements very soon."

Originally presented by comedian Jim Bowen, Bullseye ran over the entire ITV network from 1981 to 1995, regularly pulling in 13 million viewers per episode. Its peak audience was 19.8 million on Boxing Day 1989.

The show reappared in 2006, with new programmes hosted by Dave Spikey running on Challenge.
