Bulldog ties Rubies for classic brands

Bill and Ben and Andy Pandy dress-up to be launched as part of firm's retro range.

Bulldog Licensing has added Rubies Masquerade to the licensing programme for classic brands Bill and Ben and Andy Pandy.

The firm has produced adult dress-up lines for both brands, launched to coincide with The Ashes so that sporting fans can stand out from the crowd if they choose.

Bulldog has already signed licensed imagery specialist ID Wall to create canvas wall art for both brands, while apparel companies Lazzati and Poetic Gem are developing lines of clothing. Rubies is also planning a children's dress-up line later in the year.

"As part of our new retro range, we are really excited to be launching our Bill and Ben costumes," said Rubies' Holly Davies. "Bill and Ben are such an integral part of our childhood and make for fantastic and fun costumes, which are all the rage at the moment. Gone are the days where you would only dress up at parties; sports events now see an array of colourful character costumes, and what's more British than Bill and Ben and the cricket?"

Bulldog's Rob Corney added: "With The Ashes underway, it's the perfect time for Rubies to be launching this new range. Both of these classic brands have iconic status and this is a fantastic and innovative way to tap into their enduring appeal."
