CBS Consumer Products is expanding its presence in the live events category with new stage shows based on The Brady Bunch, Cheers and Corduroy.

The new shows join a growing roster of live events that includes ongoing concert tours Star Trek: Live in Concert and Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage.

A deal between CBS Consumer Products and the Schwartz family will see The Brady Bunch will take to the stage in a musical stage show.

The show will feature classic characters in an original story and the music and lyrics for the show are being written by Wings guitarist Laurence Juber and Hope Juber.

Elsewhere, Stageworks Media is developing Cheers Live On Stage, a stage show showcasing classic moments from the show while The Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis is bringing children’s book Corduroy to the stage for the first time in one of CBS Consumer Products’ first deals for the property.

“The Brady Bunch and Cheers are two iconic TV shows with a deep connection to fans that is as strong as ever," said Liz Kalodner, executive vice president and general manager of CBS Consumer Products.

"These live adaptations will capitalise on the shows’ timeless characters and stories to create something completely new and captivating.”
