Licensed textile and housewares specialist, Character World has added The Gruffalo to its roster.

The fast growing firm signed a deal with The Licensing Company to produce textiles based on the hit children's book.

In-house designers have created a duvet set which will be available to selected retailers this autumn, including department stores and online. In addition, a duvet set based on the companion book, The Gruffalo's Child, will be available exclusively from Next.

"The Gruffalo is a favourite of the under fives all over the world and is fast becoming a modern day classic," said Danny Schweiger, joint MD at Character World. "Our design team has been working hard to produce the best possible designs to reflect the charm of Axel Scheffler's artwork. It's a great licence to have in our portfolio."
