Homewares and textiles licensee Character World has bolstered its presence in the North West, opening up a new warehouse facility in Liverpool.

The new 100,000 sq ft space is based in the Liverpool Freeport and will serve national retailers. Character World's HQ will remain in Cheadle.

Arends International has been appointed to run the UK warehouse, with up to ten jobs being created.

"Efficient supply of stock is essential," said Adam Howarth, supply chain director at Character World. "Expanding our logistics and distribution operations is good news for suppliers and retailers. We are always looking at ways to expand and improve productivity. Our new warehouse will help us meet the increasing demand from licensors and retailers.

"The location means containers can be delivered straight from the vessel to the warehouse. Choosing Liverpool docks made perfect sense."
