Former Zap execs Anthony Duckworth, Andy Downie and Jo Duckworth open new kids' bedding licensee.

A new children's branded bedding and accessories specialist has opened its doors.

Dreamtex was founded in August by former Zap colleagues Andy Downie, Anthony Duckworth and Jo Duckworth, with the trio boasting over 50 years of experience in the licensed home textile category between them.

Dreamtex has already secured deals for Skylanders and WWE with CPLG, while its most recent acquisition is Lisle International's The Trash Pack.

It will also be introducing Angry Birds and Betty Boop designs in spring/summer 2013.

"Our strategy is one of focus and concentration," explained marketing director Jo Duckworth. "By giving greater consideration to fewer, key brands we are confident that we can develop more of a thoughtful product range.

"Dreamtex is all about creativity and innovation - combining original, design-led treatments and quality fabrics with leading brands and characters. By the end of the year we will have developed a small, yet solid portfolio of brands, with a core group of licensors that can be built upon steadily over the next few years."
