Egmont acquires Hello Kitty mag rights

Publisher inks deal with Sanrio to launch new title; first issue due on August 8th.

Egmont Publishing Group has secured a deal with Sanrio to publish the Hello Kitty Magazine.

The new title will launch on August 8th, priced at £2.99 and aimed at five to eight year-old girls.

Egmont already publishes the Hello Kitty Magazine in 13 territories.

"We are delighted to be working in partnership with Sanrio on such an established brand, and are excited about launching Hello Kitty Magazine in August," said Debbie Cook, director of magazines at Egmont Publishing Group. "As the experts in publishing for girls, Hello Kitty will be a welcome addition to the Egmont portfolio."

Paolo Casarini, licensing director at Sanrio Global Consumer Products, added: "We are hugely excited to be extending our collaboration with Egmont Publishing Group with this new Hello Kitty Magazine.
